Welcome to americanVRS! Our video relay service (VRS) operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allowing users to place and receive phone calls using American Sign Language (ASL).

americanVRS works like this: Either a hearing caller or deaf/hard of hearing caller can initiate an americanVRS call. Upon connection, give the Video Interpreter (VI) the number to dial. When the other party answers, have a normal phone conversation while the VI interprets both sides of the chat. The VI will correspond with the deaf/hard of hearing individual through ASL and with the hearing individual through voice.
